I’m Tammy

Welcome! I am a licensed Education Specialist, as well as an Associate at the Orton Gillingham Academy  (OGA). I have worked as a general education teacher, SPED teacher, and literacy tutor for the past 12 years. My passion is in helping students reach their full potential and seeing their genuine excitement when they accomplish something they believed to be too challenging.

 

No two children are the same, which is why I believe in the benefits of an individualized, structured literacy approach. Therefore, every tutoring session is not only interactive and multi-sensory but is also customized to your child’s specific needs. I believe that a trusting relationship is crucial to children's academic and social-emotional growth, which is why I provide a structured yet warm and nurturing environment where your child can feel safe to take risks and make mistakes. Through their mistakes and continued practice, my students gain confidence in their abilities and, most importantly, begin to believe in themselves!
